Herbert C. McKay, American, born 1895, died 1970.

From the dust jacket of Three-Dimensional Photography - Principles of Stereoscopy:

Herbert C. McKay, FRPS, ASC, ranks among the leaders of present-day photography. Teacher, author, columnist, technical expert, he brings to his chosen field a penetrating and analytical mind and a scientific approach. He is recognized as one of the really great technicians in the photographic field.

As a columnist (American Photography, U.S. Camera), McKay has written the longest-appearing photographic column in the country. He was one of the first to introduce the miniature camera into the United States. As one of the organizers of The Stereo Guild, he continues to provide leadership and expert guidance to that organization. He was the first person in this country to conduct a radio program on photography.

At his home in Eustis, Florida, McKay today continues his research and experimental work to provide material for his widely-read writings on stereoscopy and other phases of photograpy.
